‘Brilliantly disturbing comedy’ to take to the stage in Bolton

Harold Pinter’s ‘The Birthday Party,’ billed as a “brilliantly disturbing comedy of menace and mayhem,” will play at Bolton Little Theatre (Forge Theatre, Bolton, BL1 4TG) from Saturday, February 1 until Saturday, February 8.

There will also be a matinee at 2pm on Sunday, February 2.

The play centres around Meg and Petey who live in a small seaside boarding homes” target=”_blank”>house with their sole boarder, a peculiar fellow by the name of Stanley.

He claims to be a concert pianist although seems only to have played a single concert.

When two strangers arrive – apparently at the invitation of Petey – Meg naively accommodates them, and decides to arrange a birthday party for Stanley that night.
