
Speaking to her 1.1m followers on Instagram on New Year’s Eve, the former Coronation Street star spoke openly about how the festive period has impacted her mood.
She also shared that she “crashed her car” on Tuesday, December 30.
The Bury-born actress, who grew up in Bolton, said: “It was fine, it could have been a lot worse … it’s just hassle because I planned to go to Scotland and stuff and I crashed into another car.
“It was totally, like, my fault … the bumper is hanging off. I’m an absolute idiot”
Helen, who went to Westholme School, shared that “her head is so busy” and that she finds it hard to concentrate and control her emotions but that she “wouldn’t change who she is because it would be boring.”
The model was diagnosed with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and bipolar disorder almost 10 years ago.
She said: “If I’m being honest, I just feel like so deflated in my mood … and I think that’s ok.
“I think my ADHD is in overdrive. The older I get, I actually realise how severe it is … but I really loved panto and the social aspect of it … I loved how fun it was.”
The former Westholme School pupil starred as the Wicked Queen in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs panto at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena.
She is set to play the role of Catherine in Bolton Octagon Theatre’s 30th anniversary revival of Shelagh Stephenson’s The Memory of Water from January 29 to February 21 and shared that she is “struggling to learn her lines.”
Helen revealed that she has also been busy penning her new memoir, Head and Heart, which is due to be published in late January.
She shared that she has “constant mum guilt” after not seeing her three children – Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie – properly for “about two months” but is planning to ring in the new year with them at a party in Birmingham.
