‘Mean Girls the Musical’ is coming to Manchester

‘Mean Girls the Musical’ will launch its UK and Ireland tour at the Manchester Opera House on February 23, 2026.

Based on the cult movie, the stage adaptation tells the story of Cady Heron, a home-schooled teenager who enters the world of high school politics ruled by the infamous Plastics.

It will also tour venues across the UK and Ireland until the end of January 2027.

The musical is written by Tina Fey, with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

It first premiered in Washington, D.C. in 2017 before opening on Broadway in April 2018.

The West End production began at the Savoy Theatre on June 5, 2024, and concluded on June 8 2025, playing to more than 330,000 fans.

It won Best New Musical at the 2025 WhatsOnStage Awards.

The UK and Ireland tour features Emily Lane as Cady Heron, with Vivian Panka as Regina George, Sophie Pourret as Karen Smith, Georgie Buckland as Janis Sarkisian, Max Gill as Damian Hubbard, Karim Zeroual as Kevin Ganatra and Joshua Elmore as Mr Duvall.

Ms Lane’s credits include Frozen at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Anne Boleyn: The Musical at Hever Castle.

Ms Panka recently appeared in the UK tour of Dear Evan Hansen.
