Sally O’Reilly will appear at the historic Bolton venue on Saturday 25 July at 2 pm to discuss her latest novel, Hagtale: A Macbeth Original Story.
Set in the atmospheric surroundings of Smithills Hall’s medieval hall, the event will delve into O’Reilly’s dark reimagining of the legends and folklore surrounding Macbeth, featuring wolf-children, witches, and kings.
Visitors will have the opportunity to hear the author discuss the inspiration behind the book and its connection to the enduring myths that inspired Shakespeare’s play.
Copies of Hagtale will be available to purchase and have signed on the day.
The event is free to attend, but tickets must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.
Theatre company A Place For Us returns to the hall to present Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet.
Audience members are invited to bring their picnic baskets or enjoy treats from Bake and Roast.
