The beloved Christmas tale is returning to Smithills Hall, where theatre company A Place For Us will stage performances in the building’s atmospheric Great Hall on December 5 and 6.
Audiences will follow Ebenezer Scrooge on his journey through Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come in a production set against the backdrop of one of Bolton’s most historic buildings.
Performances will take place at 5pm and 7pm on Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6.
Organisers promise an evening of festive storytelling, with the hall’s historic surroundings helping to bring Dickens’ Victorian classic to life.
Visitors can also make an evening of the event, with Bake & Roast serving festive food and drinks before each performance. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price and must be booked separately.
A spokesman said: “As darkness falls and the hall is filled with festive spirit, join Ebenezer Scrooge on his unforgettable journey.
“With candlelit charm, seasonal wonder and a touch of Dickensian magic, this promises to be a truly memorable festive evening.
“We’ve teamed up with Bake & Roast who will be serving delicious festive food and drinks before each performance. Once you’ve booked your show tickets, you can reserve a table by emailing bakeandroast@gmail.com.
“Gather your family and friends, wrap up warm, and prepare for an enchanting evening of festive storytelling in one of Bolton’s most historic settings.”
Tickets are available directly through the theatre company, with information available on Bolton Library and Museum Facebook Page.
