Following their recent powerful musical production of The Yeomen of the Guard at St.Joseph’s Hall in Leigh, The Three Towns held the annual event at Culcheth Village Club.
Long Service Awards for affiliation to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) were presented by Chair of The Three Towns, Ann Batchelor, to Allen Christey-Casson for 60 years of treading the boards, Steve Brennan, Susan Bradley, Ken and Gill Rees 50 years, Elsie Murphy and Catherine Kay 45 years, Susan Shaw and Elsa McGhee 30 years, Fran Davies 25 years and Paul Dainton 15 years.
It was also a chance for the group to reflect on their recent award success elsewhere, too, with the society awarded Best Concert and Phil Boardman Best Musical Director for their Concerts in November 2025 by NODA.
For their performance of Die Fledermaus at St Joseph’s Hall in May 2025, Pamela-Heywood Connor John Matthias were awarded Best Comedy Duo as Rosalinda and Gabriel Eisenstein by NODA. The Association of Community Theatre (ACT), awarded the society Most Accomplished Vocal Ensemble in Musical Comedy. Most Accomplished Supporting Actress in Musical Comedy went to Victoria Goulden as Adele, Most Accomplished Character Performance Actor in Musical Comedy to Ken Rees as Frank.
The society is now in rehearsal for its annual concerts which will take place on Friday 20th (evening) and Saturday 21st November (matinee) at St. Joseph’s Hall, Leigh WN7 2PR.
They’ll be performing a variety of Songs from the Shows, Broadway, West End, Popular and Classical Music, in a relaxed cabaret setting.
